Many of us are forced to make tough decisions every day about paying bills, buying food, accessing medical care, and stretching our household budgets. The Ohio Benefit BankTM is designed to make it simpler for Ohioans to connect with programs and resources that can make those decisions a little bit easier. From any computer with Internet access, you can use the online service to complete applications for programs like food assistance, child care assistance, health coverage, and much more.
The Ohio Benefit Bank (OBBTM) is a program of the Ohio Association of Foodbanks. Due to increased demand for emergency food, we needed a creative way to stretch the household budgets of Ohioans in need. In late 2006, we became the lead implementer of The Benefit Bank® in Ohio. Since then, the OBB has continued to grow and expand. To date, the OBB has helped more than 829,000 Ohioans gain access to tax credits and potential work supports worth more than $1.59 billion!
